A few thoughts: Giving to the Lord is not to be about pressure or obligation. Worship in giving should come from a heart that loves God and cheerfully wants to give with generosity, remembering all that Jesus has given to us.
2 Corinthians 8:7-9 “– see that you also excel in the grace of giving … For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.”
2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Remember that, in DBC, we do not track who gives and how much they give.
Many of us already give regularly through a standing order set up with the bank. This can be done through online banking or at your local branch.
If you’re wondering how to give during this time; we’d suggest 3 possibilities for those who’d like to give:
Also note that a “Tax Relief Scheme” has been set up by the government. This is a way to maximize good stewardship of your giving.
This scheme is available to all who pay income tax; whether self-assessed or PAYE tax payers. If you have any questions about this; please be in touch with our church treasurer.
